New hot water system for a doctors' surgery in Poole

A local doctors' surgery in Poole called us after the hot and cold water pipework beneath the floor started leaking. The leaks had caused damage and the surgery had been forced to close, so getting a reliable water supply back in place was urgent.

We replaced the leaking pipework with new hot and cold water pipework and built the system around a multi-port manifold. Each consulting room now has its own hot and cold feed from the manifold, so every room can be isolated individually. Each pipe is labelled with the room it serves, so anyone working on the system later can see straight away which valve shuts off which room.

We also installed a new mains pressure system. A mains pressure system takes water straight from the incoming mains rather than from a storage tank, so the taps get a strong, steady flow. The new unvented cylinder sits in the surgery's plant cupboard alongside the manifolds.

To protect the new system, we fitted an Aquabion water conditioner. It gives the system scale protection, which helps keep the new pipework and equipment working reliably for longer.

This was not a typical job in a home. It was a busy medical building that had already suffered significant water damage, and the surgery needed to reopen as soon as possible. We carried out the installation during the evening to keep disruption to a minimum and get the surgery back up and running quickly.

The pipework was carefully routed to complement the surgery's existing décor, so the new system sits neatly in the building rather than standing out.

The surgery now has a reliable new water system and a much lower risk of disruption from future leaks. Because each consulting room can be shut off on its own, any room can be isolated for maintenance while the rest of the surgery carries on as normal.
